Bereavement
I am sad to report the passing of Ill. Kt. Brian Francis Richards, who died on Tuesday, 9 February aged 85 years.
Brian was a member of Ancaster Conclave for 29 years. A former Divisional Senior Warden, he attained the rank of Past Grand Standard Bearer Constantine in 2009.
He was a well-respected and very active mason holding Grand Rank in many Orders. Sadly, he resigned his membership in January 2020 because of ill health.
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Presentation to St Andrew's Children's Hospice (Andy's)
The R.Ill. Intendant-General, Steve Roberts and Ill.Kt. Ray Wade, Divisional Recorder, were very pleased to visit St Andrew’s Children’s Hospice (Andy’s) in Grimsby today (20th October) to present a cheque for £2,500 on behalf of the Grand Sovereign’s Care for Children’s Fund.

Andy’s offers free palliative care to children and young people from birth to the age of 25 years with any progressive life-limiting illness; the care is available in a wide range of settings which includes 24-hour care as well as day care and bereavement support.
Receiving the cheque, Fundraising and Events Coordinator John Stobart expressed the Hospices deep gratitude and reminded us that their services were only made possible by the generosity and assistance of corporate organisations, local businesses and individuals, as statutory sources only partially cover their running costs (around 19%).

SPALDING CONCAVE, No.346 - ANNUAL PRESENTATIONS
Each year the Lincolnshire Red Cross Division gives one of its Conclaves the sum of £750.00 to be distributed to local charities. In 2018 it was the turn of Spalding Conclave No. 346, who members resolved to give £250.00 to each of three charities.
These were:
- The Garth School in Spalding which meets the needs of pupils aged between 2 and 19 with complex, severe and profound learning difficulties. Their aim is to provide an inclusive education in the most real sense, preparing pupils to take a confident and active place in society despite their special needs.
- Don’t Lose Hope, a new Bourne based charity that offers means related counselling services for children, young people, their families and other members of the community affected by mental health issues. The service is provided free of charge for families and individuals on low income or state benefits.
- The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance based at RAF Waddington. They receive no direct government funding so rely almost entirely on the support and generosity of local people and their fundraising activities.
